Child Development program

The Child Development program follows a morning schedule that begins at 8:30* am and ends at 12:30* pm.  Each room caters to a particular age range and maintains above standard adult/child ratios. Children are placed in rooms based on their age at the time of enrolment.

Twinkle Room (Infants 3 months – 11 months)

Infants – non mobile infants are cared for through a personalized routine that is followed by our caring and trained caregivers, which include a qualified nurse, in an environment that is safe and familiar. Parents share the needs of their infants with us during our settling in period and routines are followed as per the guidelines of the parents. Care givers meet each infant’s sleeping, feeding and diapering needs in the Twinkle room with compassion and kindnesss.  Each family receives a Daily Diary, which is filled in by the caregivers each day so that parents are informed of everything they need to know to continue the care of their children while at home.

Star Room (Twos)

Once children are confidently mobile and moving around, they transition into the toddler Star room. Though routines still maintain an individualized feature as needed in the Star room, toddlers are slowly more able to participate in small group activities & experiences.  Thus a developmentally appropriate range of small group experiences are offered.   Children at the stage of development are true sensory explorers and are piecing together knowledge through the varied experiences they encounter, and so opportunities for sensory exploration and body movement are emphasized in the Star room.

Sky Room (Toddlers 12 months to 24 months)

Here we promote independence through child centered as well as teacher initiated activities throughout the day. Children are encouraged to practice and develop their fine motor skills through arts, crafts activities and other developmentally appropriate activities. At this stage of development, independence is practice and cultivated through skills such as self feeding, hand washing and assisting with clean up after play. These skills are introduced in a way so that children gain pride in their expanding abilities. Through small and large group experiences, like circle time, children in this room are introduced to social skills and an awareness of self and others. Language and pre-Math and pre-Science concepts of introduced by various developmentally appropriate activities; including story time, songs and rhythms, music and movement, and play based experimentation & exploring.

Preschool Rooms – Rainbow & Moon (3 to 4 years)

In the Preschool rooms, children are exposed to numbers, letters, and shapes. And, more important, they learn how to socialize — get along with other children, share, and contribute to circle time. In addition to strengthening socialization skills — how to compromise, be respectful of others and problem-solve.  The Preschool program provides a place where your child can gain a sense of self, explore, play with peers, and build confidence. Children discover that they are capable and can do things for themselves — from small tasks like pouring their own juice and helping set snack tables to tackling bigger issues like making decisions about how to spend their free time.

Kindergarten Rooms – KG Comets (4 years +)

We prepare our children for the formal schooling that they are going to get in the next ten years of their life. We implement a well designed and tested approach towards learning and retaining. We offer self-help activities in our day to day schedule along with the educational curriculum. This is the phase where children start to build their character. They get the basic idea of self-respect, attitude, creativity, and curiosity, challenges, knowing and tending to their own needs.

Holiday Club

Holiday Clubs are offered during the winter, spring and summer.  Age appropriate programs are designed for each age group and registration is open to the general public.  During the Winter & Spring Club we design activities that are engaging and fun while as well as learning centered.  Arts and crafts experiences are tied into loved stories and books as children explore socioemotional concepts  and lots of opportunity is provided for discovery play as well as big body play in our play gym and outdoor playgroud.  Our Summer Club is very poplular as it includes trips to outdoor water parks and indoor play areas.

Morning/ Afternoon Care

We at Bright Beginnings have our afternoon program at 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm. It’s a five hour long program that runs for five days a week. This day care program is all inclusive of age groups ranging from 3 months to 5 years. Programs offered are

3 months – 11 months

1 year – Under 2

2 years – 2 years 5 months

2 years 6 months – Under 3

3 years – 4 years

4 years – 5 years

Twinkle – We work on creating the environment safe and familiar for the infants. We try to form meaningful and deep relationship with the baby as well as the family. We let the child get familiar with the staff and the surroundings. We keep a regular track of their feeding habits, bowel movements and sleeping patterns. We nurture your child to ensure that the transition from home to center is seamless.  Childrens’ attention is engaged with moving toys, voices and people.

Star – Children are given toy blocks and coloured shapes to play and learn from. Colours and shapes is the way, children start to recognize the outside world. They begin to grasp the concept of similarity and dissimilarity, both in shapes and colour forms. Along with their teachers they also participate in a little dancing and music activity. At this age children begin to notice the different sounds coming from different instruments and more often pick an instrument of their choice.

Children of Clouds and Sky group have officially entered the toddler phase. They understand the basic concept of food, sleep and play. They are given puzzles, big size Lego sets, drawing and clay board for the first time. They engage in new activities very quickly, so it is important that our teachers schedule all kinds of activities for them. This helps them choose their favourite and still be interested in the rest of the activities. Communication and expression of thought is encouraged in the form of words. Audio story books, picture story book , words by block collection are some of the activities well suited for this ager group. Children find outdoor play more interesting, so they are given ball to play with and can run around freely in our big playground.

Rainbow – Children of this age group are introduced to more work based activities. They learn to build sets with the help of building blocks and legos. They assemble letter blocks into words and have a song or a dance style already picked out that they enjoy more than others. They are more involved in outdoor activities be it water play, sand play or jumping up and down.  They are gradually introduced to the concepts of science and arts; this helps them find their interest. Communication is a big aspect of growth for this age group, so we have plenty of activities focusing on kids telling us about themselves, way that they feel about other children, other activities etc.

KG1 – This is the age group for children starting school soon. We cultivate the curiosity and drive in the children which are the founding stones for the rest of their school lives. We use our award winning The Creative Curriculum and GOLD assessment approach for the children. The children are taught to be self-reliable as well as how to behave in a group. They find their standing, learn their strengths and uniqueness and get the basic idea of the formal school educational curriculum.
